Miami's art scene owes its beginnings to the establishment of Art Basel Miami, a roving art festival with various global locations. However, since Basel's initial explosion, more than 25 satellite art-related events also take place that same weekend. Furthermore, the Miami art scene has blossomed to include year round art attractions, galleries, and locations that cater to a younger demographic. The concept of an "Art hotel" showcasing and centered around high-end art installations is quintessentially Miami, and combined with the Wynwood scene showcasing street art, South Florida has really come into its own as an art capital. Since Miami is an under tapped and developing market, the scene grows with the city itself, which excites both the artist and the art enthusiast.
