![]() Von Dutch trucker hats and Christian Audigier's (RIP) tight shirts invaded South Beach like a plague circa 2008, but (thankfully) those days are gone. Yet, some men still miss the mark when it comes to finding an outfit suitable for "going out". 1.Designer T-shirts (Designer T-shirts are still a thing, but they are considerably looser and longer than the underarmor-esque shirts people were wearing out almost a decade ago. Popular labels such as Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent make expensive but catchy slim t-shirts that compliment any body type and pants combination.) 2.Collared Shirts ( If collars are more more your style, you'll be happy to know that you can't really go wrong with a button-up. The versatility alone makes it a great option for a night out. But by all means, avoid the Polo shirt. Unless you're a golfer or a law enforcement officer, there is really no reason to be wearing one at all, at least on your time off. If you're at the door of a club with a polo on, I hope you have at least have a couple girls by your side to assist with entry, but you won't... Because you're wearing a polo... 3.Skinny jeans (We all know that one guy who's skinny jeans fit like leggings. Don't be that guy. Skinny jeans are all the rage for both men and women, but men should at least be able to "pinch an inch" of fabric off the side of their pants. In addition, the distressed denim trend is popular, but for men, staying on the subtle side of this trend will look a lot more polished.) 4.Trainers (If you want to show off your brand name super clean high-top kicks, go for it, but proceed at your own risk. And, you will always want to leave the Jordans at home. Some clubs have a strict footwear dress code, and might deny entry for wearing sneakers. Tennis and dress shoes will always work for your look and will not raise red flags at the door.) Advice (courtesy of Esquire.com) If you're going early... ...wear a nice suit. Something slick, but still something you could wear to an office. It says: "Hey, I just did something very important, I have money, and I know what's up. Don't hassle me — or my clients." And a good doorman speaks the language of suits; act cool and you'll breeze right by. If you're going late... ...it's okay to dress all hip and disheveled. If this is truly your M.O., you're probably not reading this, and the doorman already knows you. Still, it says: "Look, I've been partying all weekend and you know I know everybody up in there." If not, again, act cool, and, while you might have to wait, you'll probably get in. If you're going at any other point in the evening... ...it doesn't matter what you're wearing (as long as it's not offensive). Just bring beautiful women.
