![]() It’s July, it’s hot, and we’re ready to see what’s going down in fashion this month! There’s a lot going on as far as fashion is concerned, and you’re sure to see some of the WildChild herself at these events! From swim shows to winter wear, there are so many events to go to and fill up your nights with something new and fun. After all, going to Ora every week can get very monotonous. Break up your mundane schedule and go to some of these amazing events with a few of your friends for a wonderful evening out! Miami Swim Week
Let’s start with the world’s largest swim wear fashion week. Miami hosts the biggest and most vivacious swimwear fashion show and events. While the show happens all week, there are multiple parties and events that you may be lucky enough to attend. Although, in my personal opinion, shelling out a little extra cash goes a long way in having a good time at this showing. Specifically Miami Swim Week consists of the following trade shows: Swimshow Hammock Cabana and Swim Miami runway show Swimshow (July 22-26, 9am-6pm, MB Convention center) Now in it's 35th year, Swimshow is the largest and longest running swimwear tradeshow in the world. This event takes place at the Miami Beach Convention, and boasts over 2500 exhibiting brands. Hammock (July 22-24, 10am-7pm, W South Beach) Hammock showcases upscale swim, resort, beauty, and accessory brands in private ocean-view suites or in an exhibition hall. Perfect for both established and emerging designers, global media and retailers can review and discover brands in trends in a more intimate setting just steps from the center of Swim Week. Cabana (July 22-24, Tents @ Collins Ave) Cabana is the brainchild of Atrium head buyer Janet Wong and Atrium owner Sam Ben-Avraham. Cabana was created with upscale resort-wear in mind. Catering more towards retailers and buyers, this tradeshow was conceptualized to create a service-based and relaxing shopping experience. Swim Miami Runway (July 20-23, W South Beach) Swim Miami is the runway aspect of the spectacle that is Fashion week, and is one of the most exclusive platforms for showing and buying for designers, influencers, and retailers alike. Funkshion (July 20-23, Tents @ Collins) While Swim Week is happening, Funkshion is the highlight. Back for it’s 15th year, Funkshion is the longest-running runway event during their event Swim Fashion Week (not to be confused with the umbrella name Miami Swim Week). Sadly, this is one event that is not open to the public. So remember that one guy that knew that designer? It’s time to get on their good side to get a pass for one of the hottest events Miami sees. Dive Another sub domain of Miami’s Swim Week, we’re seeing Dive enter it’s 3rd year in the mix, focusing more on labels that aren’t well known and already thriving. The brands usually include different styles than the rest of what is featured in the normal Swim Week lineups. If you’re looking for something with a different approach to the standard bikini show, look no further than Dive. Beauty Fashion Health Expo (July16th, Macaya Gallery) At only $10, this expo is quite a steal! There is a live fashion show included in this expo, but you get much more than just a show, you get to see the beauty side of fashion. Multiple spas from the Miami area have their experts there to inform and display their products and services. The event in held in the Macaya Gallery in Wynwood and is definitely worth checking out! There are so many events going on in July that pertain to Fashion Week for Miami that it’s almost impossible to name them all. Make sure you check out all of the Pop-Up shows that are happening alongside the main events. Some of them are free and others support charities in the local Miami area. There are shows, music events and silent auctions throughout July that most anyone can attend. Start making moves and planning some fun, fashion-filled evenings!
